Singapore's Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) arrested 82 suspected drug offenders during an island-wide anti-drug operation conducted from 14 to 18 September 2026. The five-day enforcement operation resulted in the seizure of cannabis, Ice, heroin, ketamine, Ecstasy tablets and LSD stamps, with the total value of the drugs estimated at more than S$46,700.
According to CNB, the seized quantities of heroin, Ice and cannabis could potentially have supported the addiction of 270 abusers for about one week. The operation covered several areas, including Ang Mo Kio, Macpherson, Geylang and Lavender.
Significant Quantities of Controlled Drugs Seized
During the operation, CNB officers recovered approximately:
- 1,151g of cannabis
- 146g of Ice (methamphetamine)
- 45g of heroin
- 9g of ketamine
- Four Ecstasy tablets
- Two LSD stamps
The seizure demonstrates the range of controlled substances involved in suspected drug activities investigated during the enforcement operation.
Beyond removing these substances from circulation, the operation also involved follow-up investigations into suspected trafficking and drug consumption activities at different locations across Singapore.
Three Foreign Nationals Arrested in Geylang
On the evening of 15 September, CNB officers arrested a 40-year-old male foreign national near Lorong 12 Geylang for suspected drug trafficking offences.
Further investigations led officers to a hotel along Sims Avenue, where a 43-year-old male foreign national and a 34-year-old female foreign national were arrested for suspected drug offences.
A search of the 43-year-old man's hotel room resulted in the recovery of approximately 185g of cannabis, along with smaller quantities of Ice and Ecstasy and several items of drug paraphernalia.
Officers also searched another room on the same floor where the 34-year-old woman was arrested. Approximately 15g of Ice and several items of drug paraphernalia were recovered from the room.
13 Men Arrested at Geylang Residential Building
On the evening of 16 September, CNB conducted another enforcement operation at a private residential building along Lorong 22 Geylang.
A total of 13 men were arrested for suspected drug offences. Eleven men, comprising three Singaporeans and eight foreign nationals between the ages of 20 and 53, were arrested from eight rooms within the building. Two additional foreign nationals, aged 26 and 31, were arrested on the ground floor.
Approximately 12g of Ice and several items of drug paraphernalia were seized during the operation.
Based on preliminary investigations, CNB said all 13 men were suspected to have consumed controlled drugs. Investigations into their alleged drug activities remain ongoing.
CNB Warns Against Drug Trafficking and Drug Abuse
CNB Deputy Director of Enforcement Division, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Lim Sze Yuk, said the agency would continue pursuing individuals involved in drug abuse and trafficking and that offenders would be dealt with under the law.
The agency also highlighted the responsibility of business owners and operators whose premises may be knowingly used to facilitate drug-related activities. CNB stated that enforcement action would be taken against persons involved in such activities.
The statement also emphasised that keeping Singapore safe and drug-free is a shared responsibility and encouraged members of the public to remain alert and report suspicious activities to the relevant authorities.
