The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has intensified its ongoing efforts against illegal drug activities following a six-day island-wide enforcement operation that resulted in the arrest of 100 suspected drug offenders. Conducted between 12 and 17 July, the operation targeted multiple residential and commercial areas across Singapore, demonstrating the nation's continued commitment to maintaining a drug-free society.

Suspected Drug Trafficking Case in Woodlands
Among those arrested was a 28-year-old Singaporean man suspected of drug trafficking offences.
CNB officers searched his motorcycle parked in the vicinity of Woodlands Street 13 before conducting a search of his residence near Segar Road. During the operation, officers recovered a substantial quantity of cannabis together with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia believed to be associated with illegal drug activities.
The arrest highlights CNB's continued efforts to identify and dismantle individuals suspected of distributing controlled drugs within Singapore.
Island-Wide Anti-Drug Operation
The enforcement operation covered several locations across Singapore, including Boon Lay, Ghim Moh, Jurong, Kallang, Tampines, Tengah, Toa Payoh, and Woodlands. Significant Drug Seizures
During the six-day operation, CNB officers seized various controlled substances, including cannabis, heroin, methamphetamine (commonly known as Ice), Ecstasy tablets, and Erimin-5 tablets. Cash believed to be connected to suspected drug activities was also recovered.
According to CNB, the drugs seized were estimated to have a street value exceeding S$34,000. Authorities further stated that the quantities of heroin, cannabis, and Ice recovered could potentially have supplied the addiction of more than 200 drug abusers for approximately one week.
Joint Enforcement Operation at Foreign Worker Dormitory
In a separate operation, CNB led a joint enforcement exercise at a foreign worker dormitory in the Jurong area. The operation involved collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore Customs, and the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) as part of a broader strategy to combat drug abuse and trafficking.
Nine Bangladeshi men, aged between 22 and 40, were arrested for alleged drug-related offences. Among them, three individuals were investigated for suspected drug trafficking in addition to drug consumption offences.
Authorities also recovered cannabis during the operation, demonstrating the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing illegal drug activities across different sectors of society.
Singapore's Firm Stand Against Drug Trafficking
Singapore continues to enforce one of the world's strictest drug control frameworks under the Misuse of Drugs Act. The law imposes severe penalties on individuals involved in trafficking, importing, exporting, manufacturing, or distributing controlled drugs.
CNB reminded the public that it is an offence not only to traffic controlled drugs directly but also to offer, arrange, or perform preparatory acts related to drug trafficking on behalf of another person, regardless of whether that individual is located inside or outside Singapore.
For serious trafficking offences involving quantities exceeding prescribed legal thresholds, offenders may face the most severe penalties under Singapore law, including capital punishment for certain cannabis trafficking cases.
